A new sign-in experience is coming
Unity portal users: You’re moving to Powerfleet’s central sign-in system. When this is released, you’ll notice the login page looks different. Read Unity portal - Set a new password for Powerfleet central account for more details of what to expect. If multifactor authentication (MFA) is enabled on your central account, it will also apply to the new sign-in. New Unity portal users will use the new sign-in from the start.
On-Road IoT users: If you have a Unity portal account, you will be migrated to the new central sign-in system. Read On-Road IoT - Set a new password the first time you sign in for more details. If you only use On-Road IoT, your details stay the same. You’ll see some smaller changes, such as entering your username and password on separate pages, in preparation for future releases.

Customer federated Single Sign-On (SSO)
The Unity portal and On-Road IoT now supports federated authentication through Single Sign-On (SSO). You can log in with your organization's credentials, which supports centralized identity management, improved security, and a seamless login experience across applications. Admins can now see each user's account type (Legacy, Unity, or Federated) in the Users list under Manage. This applies to multi-level organizations and below.
-
Your branding on the login screen
Accounts with full white-label customization now show their logo, color scheme, and login image on the login screen instead of the Powerfleet branding. Accounts with logo-only white-labeling now show their logo on the login screen. Colors and layout stay the same as the default theme.
-
Inspection emails now tracked
Vehicle Maintenance inspection records now show when an inspection was emailed to an outside recipient. The Maintenance status page displays the driver who sent it, the recipient’s email address, and the date and time of the request. The driver’s name now shows as it was captured at the time of the inspection.
-
Maintenance integration API
A new Vehicle Maintenance Integration API has been added to let clients retrieve an asset's inspection history and unresolved issues for a chosen date range.
-
Secondary source position fallback in live tracking
Unity On-Road IoT Live tracking can now fall back to a paired VisionAI camera's position when a vehicle's primary device stops reporting, keeping the asset live on the map and clearly labelling the position as a secondary source. When the MiX 4000 has not reported for more than 45 seconds, for example when it is out of coverage, Live tracking will switch to the VisionAI position and label the source Secondary in the position tooltip, asset info panel, live tracking in a new window, multiple assets window, and live share. It is not shown in Easy Track.
When the MiX 4000 reports again, Live tracking will switch back to the primary position and remove the label. The moving or stationary state of the asset is now based on one trusted source only. To enable this, check the new Enable Secondary Source Position checkbox in the MiX 4000 mobile device template configuration, near the AVL settings. It is not checked by default, and assets without it checked do not fall back to the VisionAI camera position.

GM vehicles via Mobway
GM assets connected through Mobway are now supported in On-Road IoT. You can set up GM assets using the new GM (Mobway) mobile device type and templates. Live Tracking displays position, speed, and odometer for these assets, and trip history includes the trips. Trips now close automatically when a vehicle does not send a trip end signal. Engine hours, fuel, low battery, excessive idle, safety events, and CAN diagnostics are not yet supported.
-
Immobilize and mobilize Ruptela Eco5 Lite devices
- Ruptela Eco5 Lite devices now support immobilize and mobilize commands. You can send them from the Commands to mobile device option on the Live Tracking page. The command option is only available when the immobilizer is assigned to the O1 line. If the device is offline or unreachable, On-Road IoT now displays a failure message.
