Insight Reports is the reporting suite built into On-Road IoT, Powerfleet's connected vehicle platform.
This article summarizes the report categories available in Insight Reports, what each category covers, and who typically uses it. It's for anyone evaluating or navigating the On-Road IoT report library, including fleet managers, driver supervisors, compliance officers, and dispatchers.
Behind Insight Reports is a data warehouse where all historical data up to yesterday is stored. Same-day information is also available in reports where applicable.
What you can do with Insight Reports
- Export reports to PDF, Excel, or CSV.
- Report on assets, drivers, custom groups, or sites.
- Subscribe to reports by email on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- Customize most reports with optional columns to shape the data to your needs.

Hours of service reports and journey management reports are add-on solutions. They're only available to organizations that are set up for Hours of Service or Journey Management.

Cost reports
Use cost reports to manage vehicle service and maintenance cycles, keep operations running without interruption, and track cost trends and anomalies.

Event reports
Event reports provide information about violations recorded against drivers or assets. On-Road IoT offers several event types (default, server-side, system, and custom), all of which appear in these reports. Managing events helps fleets operate more safely and cost-effectively.
Use summary reports for longer date ranges, such as last month, year to date, or last quarter. Use daily and detailed reports for shorter ranges, such as yesterday, last week, or week to date.

Fuel reports
Fuel is one of the biggest cost contributors for most fleets. Fuel reports help you manage fuel consumption and reduce fuel costs month over month. Fuel can be entered manually (entered fuel reports) or recorded by unit (measured fuel reports). Setting a target consumption per asset lets these reports show you where an asset's fuel efficiency has room for improvement.
Use summary reports for longer date ranges, such as last month, year to date, or last quarter. Use daily and detailed reports for shorter ranges, such as yesterday, last week, or week to date.

Hours of service reports
Hours of service reports are an add-on solution. They're only available to organizations set up for Hours of Service.
This group of reports shows the type and number of HOS violations that affect compliance, along with drivers' available hours, violations, and logs.

Journey management reports
Journey management reports are an add-on solution. They're only available to organizations set up for Journey Management, which helps manage road safety risk for daily journeys.

List reports provide information about the drivers and assets in your organization: registers and lists in general.
Most list reports offer a large number of optional columns. Export to Excel for the best view of these reports.

Material handling reports
This set of 13 reports is designed for customers with yellow machine equipment who operate on engine hours instead of distance, and who refer to operators rather than drivers and machines rather than assets. The category includes trip reports, event reports, impact analysis reports, list reports, performance summary reports, and monthly hour usage reports.
Satellite communication reports
For customers with fleets in remote areas fitted with satellite communication units.

Movement reports
Create all important business locations in the database first to get effective use out of movement reports. Use summary reports for longer date ranges, such as last month, year to date, or last quarter. Use daily and detailed reports for shorter ranges, such as yesterday, last week, or week to date.

The daily movement report always reflects data up to the latest downloaded trip when "today" is selected as the reporting period.
RAG reports
RAG reports are legacy scoring reports, superseded by the custom scoring reports, which use the same scoring method but support an unlimited range of violations in the scoring calculation.
RAG reports classify drivers as Red, Amber, or Green based on their RAG score, which is calculated from over-speeding, harsh acceleration, and harsh braking averaged over time and distance. The lowest score is the best score.

The collision prevention report requires fleets to be equipped with Mobileye and FM Communicator technology.
Rovi reports
A single report covering all information captured by a driver through the Rovi in-cab device.

Scoring reports
These scoring reports are legacy reports, superseded by the custom scoring reports.
Scoring reports show a driver's style relative to other drivers in the organization. Managing driver scores improves both safety and operational efficiency.

The IFTA state miles report is only available to US organizations operating in North America.

Goals: Efficiency, optimal utilization

- Includes trips that end inside the selected date range and shift, even if the trip started before the range. For example, if you select January 16 with a 6 am to 6 pm shift, a trip that started on the 15th and ended within your shift on the 16th is included.
- Excludes trips that started within your selected date but ended outside it, within a shift on the next day. For example, if a trip started after 6 pm on the 16th and ended after 6 am on the 17th, it's excluded from the 16th's report.
Daily movement report
Goals: Efficiency, trip planning, utilization, location management
