Permission: You will need permission to Organization settings - Additional asset detail.
Adding additional asset fields
Additional asset detail fields can be added to the asset details page in Fleet Admin.
These details are visible on the asset details page as well as the Asset list report when selecting the "Additional Asset details" optional column. You can specify that up to 5 of these fields be shown in Live tracking.
Adding additional asset fields
- In On-Road IoT, click Manage.
- Under Operations, click Organization settings.
- Click on the Additional asset details tab on the left.
- Click the Add button,
.
- Check the box under Required if the field needs to be completed when entering the asset information before you can click on save.
Note: If you add new required fields to an existing organization, these will only take effect when creating new asset details. For existing assets, the new required information will only beome mandatory the next time they edit an asset.
- Check the box under Enable in Live Tracking if you want the field to be displayed in the live tracking feature. You can only select up to 5 additional fields.
- Enter the new field name (label), e.g. asset manufacturer.
- Enter an optional field description if necessary (this will be displayed as small text below the additional detail field on the Asset details page and helps to guide users on the input format or information that needs to be entered).
- Click the checkmark to submit the new field.
- Once you have added all the field labels, click Save.
You will see your fields displayed on the Assets details page under the additional assets details section.
Editing existing field labels
- Open the additional field details screen as described above.
- Click the edit icon next to the relevant field.
- Make the required changes.
- Click Update.
- Click Save.
Changing the field label only changes the name of the field that is displayed to the user on the screen and does not change any of the data that has been captured against it on the Asset details page. Therefore, note that changing the field label to have a different meaning will cause a discrepancy between the label and the data captured against it.
Remove existing field labels
- Open the additional field details screen as described above.
- Click the remove icon next to the relevant field.
- Click Remove to confirm.
