A fault code also known as DTC (or diagnostic trouble code) is a type of code that a vehicle uses to communicate and alert a person to a specific problem with an aspect of the vehicle, also typically indicated by a light on the dashboard.
Which devices support fault codes:
- MiX 4000, MiX 6000 - with the added ability to enable/disable fault codes
- CalAmp
- Ford OEM
Fault Code installation requirements for MiX 4000 and MiX 6000
- MiX4000 minimum requires firmware 5.8.16.
- For OBDII installations: requires an OBDII script that is able to make active requests on the CAN bus.
- For J1939 installations: requires a J1939 script that can hear DTC messages broadcast on the CAN bus.
Please note that the firmware that is required to support this setting has not been released to production for the MiX 6000 devices yet.
