Commission a GM (Mobway) asset in On-Road IoT

Commission a GM asset by assigning it to the default configuration group for GM OEM and entering its VIN. Data from Mobway then appears on the asset.

Make the GM OEM mobile device available first. Otherwise its configuration group is not listed.

  1. In On-Road IoT, click Monitor.
  2. Under Fleet admin, click Assets.
  3. Click Add asset or search for the relevant asset in the list and click the asset name to edit.
  4. Enter the Asset description.
  5. Select the Asset type.
  6. Enter the Registration number.
  7. Select the Site.
  8. Under Configuration group, select Default configuration group for GM OEM.
  9. Enter the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the GM vehicle.

  10. Click Save. Commission a GM asset

  11. Click Manage.

  12. Under Config Admin, click Configuration groups.
  13. Search for OEM and click Default configuration group for GM OEM.
  14. Check the Configuration status of the asset. Check the configuration status

Click the Configuration status reason icon next to an asset to see why a configuration was rejected.

Please note that the VIN must match the vehicle registered with Mobway. Position, speed, and odometer appear after Mobway sends the first data for the vehicle.
