Firmware version 5.16.9 introduces key feature enhancements, security improvements, and critical bug fixes.
New features and enhancements
- Introduced speed dip detection.
- Implemented advanced Bluetooth security, including readout protection and OTA downgrade protection.
- Included additional event logging to simplify BLE troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Introduced CAN/Config event script execution limits to prevent unexpected device resets.
- Added periodic internal flash integrity checks to enhance data reliability and system health.
The following issues have been addressed
- Improved accelerometer orientation accuracy and improved auto calibration reliability.
- Fixed an issue where VIN requests could trigger “Check Engine” lights on Scania trucks.
- Improved Bluetooth communication handling, including connection stability on Android 15 devices and iOS versions 15,16,17.
- Fixed an issue where trips restarted unexpectedly after a device reboot.
- Corrected an error that caused inaccurate Renault Kangoo battery readings.
- Fixed a SIM card lockup problem caused by incorrect IMEI/IMSI parsing.
- Improved CAN communication reliability, preventing message queue lockups and missed readings.
- Fixed a battery temperature recovery issue where charging did not resume correctly after overheating.
- Prevented device resets caused by corrupted RF messages.
- Corrected frequency input recording issue after power-down exit.
Compatibility notice
- Firmware version 5.16.9 is not ELD-compatible, firmware uploads of 5.16.9 will be blocked for ELD identified devices.
- ELD customers must remain on version 5.10.23, which includes the latest compliant features and necessary fixes for ELD operation.
Update recommendations
- It is recommended that all relevant MiX 4000 devices be upgraded over the air (OTA) to version 5.16.9 to benefit from the latest stability and security improvements.
- Any stock or pipeline units should be upgraded via serial upgrader before installation or OTA after deployment.
