While the terms "landmark" and "geofence" may often be used interchangeably, the term landmark is traditionally used to refer to a defined set of boundary parameters used by the VeriiWise system to determine if latitude and longitude coordinates provided for an event took place within a pre-defined geographic location defined by a customer. Any event with a lat/long combination identified inside those boundaries will automatically be assigned the relevant Landmark location on VeriWise interface screens and reports.
VeriWise Geofence subscriptions use landmark parameters defined by the customer to analyze specified event types in combination with a location inside or outside of one or more selected landmarks to determine if those events should be escalated with email alert notifications once received.
All geofence subscription rules must be associated with landmarks, but not all landmarks must be used for geofences.
