Setting up the Geotab Vehicle Gateway assets in On-Road IoT

Geotab assets are not manually commissioned in On-Road IoT.

  • Commissioning is automatic when the IoT Connector is enabled, and there are devices available to sync within the Getoab platform for the authenticated user account.

  • The Geotab device uses a 12-character serial number for commissioning.

     

  • In On-Road IoT, click Monitor.
  • Under Fleet Admin, click IoT data connector.
  • Search for the Geotab connector, click Enable.

IMPORTANT NOTES

You cannot manually assign a serial number to an asset with the Geotab mobile device connected.

You cannot move an asset from a Geotab config group to a different device. The asset can only be decommissioned via the disable sync for the IoT Connector.

For successfully commissioned assets, diagnostic information and details on available hardware and firmware will be available in the diagnostic modal.
