New EU RED cybersecurity requirements
We would like to inform you about the updated EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) cybersecurity requirements that became mandatory from 1 August 2025, under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30.
These requirements apply to all IoT devices placed on the EU market and are intended to strengthen personal data protection, network integrity, and user authentication.
We are pleased to confirm that all relevant technical requirements are already fully supported by Teltonika's telematics products. Our firmware and hardware design comply with essential security principles, including secure communication, data protection, and access control.
As a result, you will continue receiving our products exactly as before, with no required action on your side.
The applicable cybersecurity requirements fall under Articles 3(3)(d) and 3(3)(e) of the RED Directive and are addressed through the following harmonised standards:
- EN 18031-1:2024 – General requirements for cybersecurity of radio equipment
- EN 18031-2:2024 – Specific requirements for internet-connected radio equipment
Relevant documentation regarding these regulatory changes can be found on our Wiki page.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact your Teltonika sales manager.
