When you sign into the EasyCheck mobile app you will see a Dashboard screen where you can select an asset or trailer to perform an inspection.
- Tap + to add a trailer.
- You will see a list of all the trailers with inspection templates assigned that you have access to.
If you do not see your asset in this list, you have to link an inspection template to the trailers.
- Sort the list of trailers by tapping on the search icon. Start typing to filter the list below accordingly.
- You can also sort the list by Most recently used, Description, Registration number or Fleet number.
You can add up to 12 trailers to show on the Dashboard.
Start trailer inspection

- Tap Start to start a new trailer inspection.
- You will see the date and time of the previous inspection below the trailer description as well as if it has failed or passed the check. (The time zone will be shown in the mobile device’s local time.) If you see a message stating Not synced yet it means that your device is offline and the latest inspection record has not been sent to the server yet.
Tap the grey X to the right of the trailer to remove it from the dashboard page start an inspection on another vehicle.
- If multiple inspection checks (e.g. monthly inspection, pre-trip inspection, etc.) have been loaded for the asset, make your selection by tapping the arrow > to open the required check list.
- EasyCheck might request to access the device's location. This is to save the location of the device when the inspection started and ended. If you decline this, the GPS location will not be saved for the inspection. If the device is in off-line mode the GPS coordinates will also not be saved.
- Camera access is required to take a photo when an inspection step requires visual proof or when reviewing an issue that the workshop marked as resolved. If you do not allow the use of the camera, no photos can be taken.
- You will see a list of the inspection steps. Note that steps with a red asterisk * are compulsory and must be completed to be able to move to the next screen or complete the inspection.
- Tap the comment and/or camera icons to add additional comments or to take a picture.
- Tap the checkmark to pass a step. Tap the X to fail the step.
Add comment or photo to a step
- If you are required to input a photo or comment, tap the icons as shown above.
- Tap the empty line to activate the keyboard and enter any additional information.
- Tap the camera icon to either take a picture. Remember that you need to give the app permissions to your camera.
- Tap SAVE to upload the photo and comment. Tap BACK to return to the steps.
- Tap the camera icon again to upload more photos. Each step can have up to 5 photos.
- A number next to the camera icon will indicate how many photos have been uploaded:
- Tap on the camera icon to view the photos. Tap BACK to return to the Dashboard. Tap on each individual photo thumbnail to enlarge it. Tap the cross at the top right-hand corner of the mobile device to close the full screen image.
- Tap Next at the bottom of the screen for additional checks. You can also use the tabs at the top if the inspection has been separated into sections.
- To enter a response to a question, tap the pencil icon as shown above.
- Continue to tap Next at the bottom of the screen until you are done with the entire inspection.
- On the last screen, tap Submit record to finalize the inspection.
- If you are required enter the odometer, hub odometer or the hour meter values as part of the inspection record. If this is not a requirement, the screen will not show.
- An updated date and time will now display below the asset as well as if the inspection has passed or failed.
If the template has been setup to allow you to pass all checks with a single tap, the button at the bottom of the screen will read Pass all and you can select this to mark all steps as completed and correct if no photos, comments or responses are required on any of the steps.
Which asset types are shown as trailers?
Any asset/or trailer in the system will be available for a vehicle inspection, as long as the organization is enabled for EasyCheck and the asset/trailer has an inspection template assigned.
