Two diagnostic events are available to monitor the backup battery status:
- “Backup battery low”
- “Backup battery faulty”
These are passive events and can be seen in the Event reporting suite to know when backup batteries in the fleet require replacement.
1. Enable the events in the Events library.
- Click Manage.
- Under Config admin, click Libraries.
- On the Events library tab, Search for the relevant events, “Backup battery low” and “Backup battery faulty”.
- Click the three dots menu and select Make available.
2. Add the events to an Event template.
- Click Manage.
- Under Config admin, click Templates.
- Search for the relevant Event template or create a new one.
- Add the events to the relevant event templates (read this article if you want to add the events to a number of templates in bulk.)
You do not have to load the events to config.
3. Run an Event report
- Run the Detailed Event Report to find batteries that need replacement.
TECHNICAL NOTES
- Both events are diagnostic events.
- Both are notification type events and will display an orange bar on the Timeline and will trigger every time the condition is true without duration.
- These are both passive events and can therefore only be viewed on the Timeline and in reports - no position is recorded.
