- Click Monitor.
- Under Fleet admin, click Assets.
- Search for the relevant asset you want to configure the MiX Talk device on.
- Click on the asset name in the asset description column or click the downward actions arrow and select Edit.
- Click the Keypad numbers tab on the left.
- The checkbox "Enable the driver to dial 4 pre-defined telephone numbers from the keypad" will be enabled by default and cannot be disabled.
- You can duplicate these numbers to other assets that have been configured with a MiX Talk by clicking on the option to cascade these keypad numbers to other assets. Only the assets that have been linked to a MiX Talk will be shown in this list.
- Check the box to "automatically answer calls" to ensure calls to this MiX Talk device will be answered automatically. The configuration will be sent with the SMS configuration when sending the updated keypad numbers.
- A config status beneath the field shows the status of the SMS sent to the device.
- You can enter up to four mobile numbers that the driver can dial when tapping a number on the keypad.
- Below each number field, the config status of the SMS and last config status time will be indicated. If any numbers are updated or the automatically answer calls checkbox is selected, all the settings will be sent to the MiX Talk device via SMS.
- The config status displays the status of the SMS being sent and acknowledged by the MiX Talk device.
- Click the retry button if a message failed.
Important: The service will continue to send these SMS's for a period of 30 minutes attempting every 10 minutes to resend (thus 3 attempts). After 30 minutes and three attempts, the service will expire and if the SMS has not been acknowledged by the device within the 30 minutes, the status on the keypad numbers page page will change to failed.
There is a 30 minute timeout on messages sent which means if an incorrect number was entered and sent, you have to wait 30 minutes before entering a new number and re-sending it otherwise the new command will automatically go into a failed state.
- You can refresh to see an updated status.
