If your administrator has enabled multifactor authentication on your account, you need to download an authenticator app.
This generates a time-based one-time password (TOTP) that you use to log in to On-Road IoT. A TOTP is a temporary passcode created by a computer algorithm using the current time, so each code is unique and only valid for a short period.
You can use any authentication app that supports TOTP. We recommend the Microsoft Authenticator or the Google Authenticator.
Microsoft Authenticator
Google Authenticator
- After installing the authenticator app of your choice, open it and scan the QR code shown on your login page. If you are not familiar with an authenticator app, read more in the Notes on setting up the Authenticator app section below.
- If you cannot scan the QR code, click Unable to scan? and enter the code shown on screen into the authenticator app instead.
- The authenticator app will now give you a 6-digit code that you can enter on the On-Road IoT login page to verify your identity. Enter this in the One-time code box.
- Click Submit to log in.
Notes on setting up the Authenticator app
- Open the authenticator app.
- Tap "Add" or + to add your On-Road IoT account.
- You can now either scan the QR code shown on the On-Road IoT login page, or tap Unable to scan? below the QR code to enter the code manually.
- When scanning the QR code, you must allow the app to use your phone's camera. Point your camera at the code — the required information is encoded in it, so the account is set up automatically.
- Enter an account name that will identify this as your Unity On-Road IoT account, e.g., Unity, Powerfleet, or On-Road IoT, and choose that it must be a time-based key. Tap Add.
- The authenticator app will now display a 6-digit code below the Unity account that has been created, either manually or automatically.
