A supervisor or HOS administrator can configure a driver as exempt from HOS management in the MiX Fleet Manager application.
If you are an HOS-exempt driver, the MiX ELD will display a confirmation message when logging on and off using the red driver plug. You will still be able to access some of the features relevant to an exempt driver. Restricted functionality will be indicated as such on the ELD screen.
- Log in using the red driver plug and select whether you want to be added as the Active Driver or the Co-driver.
- Remove the plug when prompted after the synchronization has been completed.
- Confirm your duty status if prompted, by tapping on the box below the status and selecting the appropriate status from the list by tapping it.
- Please note that you will have an additional sub-status field on this screen, if you have enabled our Time Entry solution.
- Enter an optional annotation by tapping in the text box to enable the keyboard. Tap the enter key when you have finished typing.
- Tap Save
- On the HOS home screen you will be indicated as an exempt driver.
- This will also be indicated on the driver information log when doing a roadside inspection.
- If you tap on any of the HOS-related features that have been enabled you will get the following message:
- When you insert your driver plug to log out from the ELD, you will see the following screen, where you can confirm or edit your duty status or sub-status (only when you have enabled Time Entry), enter an optional annotation and tap Save.
- Remove the plug only when prompted.
