Permission : You will need the "Assets - Import" permission to access this feature.
The import function provides the ability to import a list of assets. It is also possible to edit multiple assets by using this feature.
- In On-Road IoT, click Monitor.
- Under Fleet Admin, Click Assets.
- Click on the Download import template icon.
- Select the Update existing records option.
- Click Download.
- Open the downloaded file xlsx - usually named Assets_(including a custom timestamp).
- Make the required changes and then save the file.
!!! warning "" IMPORTANT: Do not edit column A, the ID column.
- In On-Road IoT, click on the Import assets icon.
- Choose Import assets from the dropdown list.
- Click on Choose file and upload the Excel file you just saved.
- The result of the import will be displayed, and an email notification will inform you if the import was unsuccessful.
Troubleshooting
Please note that when changing a configuration group, the mobile device associated with the new configuration group should be the same as the device in the existing configuration group or the import will fail.
Validation is performed on the fleet number and CMV VIN for ELD customers (i.e. all HOS US-enabled rule sets) thus:
- Fleet number - must be between 1 and 10 characters for ELD customers.
- Vehicle identification number (VIN)- must be 17 characters for ELD customers.
When the fuel type is set to "electric" the Target fuel consumption and Fuel tank capacity fields will be hidden. The following three EV fields will be available but not mandatory:

Maximum achievable range (distance unit e.g. km/mi)

Battery capacity (kWh)

Usable battery capacity (kWh)
These fields may not contain any decimals, alphabet letters, or special characters and must be numeric. The usable battery capacity cannot be higher than the battery capacity.
