Precautionary removal of MiX 4000 4.12 firmware from production servers
A potential vulnerability has been discovered on both versions of MiX 4000 FW 4.12 currently on production servers. This could cause devices that have been out of coverage for extended periods of time to not start up correctly once coverage is restored. This problem has only been reported on a single unit globally but would require a swap of hardware should it occur.
As a precaution, the two versions of MiX 4000 firmware 4.12.6 and 4.12.9 that could potentially be impacted by this problem have therefore been removed from production servers.
A solution for this issue is currently in testing and will be released as a hot fix.
No action needs to be taken on existing installations until this hotfix is available. As soon as the hotfix has been released, the hardware currently running versions 4.12 of firmware should be upgraded to the new version.
Please check with your corresponding RSO first before upgrading to a new version of firmware.
