If your administrator has enabled multifactor authentication on your account, you need to download a Authenticator app.
This will give you a time-based one-time password (TOTP) to log in to On-Road IoT. (TOTP time-based one-time password, is generated by a computer algorithm using the current time of day for uniqueness, to create a temporary passcode to use as a one-time password.)
1. You can use any authentication app that supports TOTP. We recommend you download and install the Microsoft Authenticator or the Google Authenticator.

2. After installing the authenticator app of your choice, open it and scan the QR code as shown on your login page. If you are not familiar with an authenticator app, read more below.
If you cannot scan the QR code, enter the code next to it manually into the app.
3. The authenticator app will now give you a 6-digit code that you can enter on the On-Road IoT login page to verify your identity. Enter this in the PASSCODE section.
4. Click VERIFY to log in.
Notes on setting up the Authenticator app
- Open the authenticator app.
- Click the "Add" or + button to add your On-Road IoT account.
Important Note: When you use Microsoft Authenticator select the "Other account" option when asked what kind of account is being added.
- You can now either scan the QR code that is shown on the MiX Fleet Manager login page or you can tap the ENTER CODE MANUALLY option at the bottom of the screen on Microsoft or ENTER A SETUP KEY on Google for instance.
- When scanning the QR code, you must allow the app to use your phone's camera. This will scan the code when you point your camera to the code. All the required text is encoded in the code and the account will be set up automatically.
- When entering the code/secret key, enter the code next to the QR code on the On-Road IoT login page. Enter an account name that will identify this as your On-Road IoT account, e.g. Powerfleet and choose that it must be a time based key. Tap Add.
- The authenticator app will now supply you with a 6 digit number below the mixtelematics.com account that has been created either manually or automatically. Please note that the passcode will not immediately expire according to the countdown counter in the authenticator app. A grace period was built in and the code may still be validated correctly several seconds after the app clock has ticked down and the next code is shown.
