When you connect to a vehicle that already has a driver signed in, EasyELD displays a prompt asking what to do with that driver. This ensures co-driver records only reflect drivers who were actually in the vehicle together.
Signing in as active driver
When you choose Active Driver and another driver is already connected, EasyELD asks whether to keep that driver as a co-driver or sign them out.
- Keep as co-driver: The existing driver stays connected as a co-driver and appears on your logs.
- Sign them out: The existing driver is signed out and receives a Remote Logout notification. They do not appear on your logs. You will now be the sole active driver on this asset.
If signed out, the previous driver sees this notification on their device.
Signing in as co-driver
When you as the driver connects to an asset and choose Co-driver and an active driver is already connected, EasyELD asks whether to keep that driver as the active driver or sign them out.
- Keep as driver: The existing driver stays active and you become the co-driver.
- Sign them out: The existing driver is signed out. Because a co-driver cannot be on duty without an active driver, you automatically become the active driver.
