Permission: You will need the "Mange Live share links" to create and delete links. The "Access All Live share links" allows you to see all links and not just those you created.
Share the asset's live-and-moving location with an external party, so that they are informed about the asset's current location or movement and arrival. The recipient does not need to authenticate and can open the link from any device.
- In On-Road IoT, click Monitor.
- Under Tracking, click Live tracking.
- Click on the Organization name to select the required organization and/or site. The organization name is listed in the first column and sites and groups in the next columns. You can search for an asset using the Miller columns.
- Make sure the Assets tab is selected.
- Click the three dots menu next to the asset with the location that you want to share.
- Click Live share.
- Click Generate link.
- Choose an expiration date by clicking on the calendar icon. All links have a mandatory expiration time. Any active link can also be terminated manually. You can select a maximum link life cycle of 7 days.
- Select the Driver name and mobile number if you want to include this with the location sharing.
- Select the Asset make, model and registration number if you want to include this with the location sharing.
- You can add an optional comment to include.
- Click Share and copy.
- You can now copy this link to share externally for a person to track the location of this asset.
The user can simply paste this link into any browser, and it will plot the asset on a map:
- You will also see the information you requested in the section above, e.g. driver name and number.
- The expiration time will be shown below the location details.
