You can edit camera channel names to custom, predefined labels (for example -External camera, Right side.)
Default names cannot be edited or removed. This means only the channel names on the camera peripheral can be edited.
Peripherals can be configured at both the library and template levels, allowing you to create different configuration groups with unique camera name assignments. Please note that channel names cannot be changed at the asset level.
Edit and assign channel names in the peripheral library:
- Click Manage.
- Under Config Admin, click Libraries.
- Click the Peripheral library tab.
- Search for the Streamax peripherals and click on the Streamax camera peripheral.
Note: Default camera channel names (Road, In-Cab, and Driver) are shown on the Streamax C6D AI and Streamax AD Plus peripherals and cannot be edited.
- Click the Camera name tab.
- Click Add entry to add a custom channel label.
- Select the camera direction from the dropdown list, e.g. left side facing. This is crucial to determine the correct blurring model to apply to incoming video when blurring has been enabled.
- The camera name will be auto-completed with the direction and can be edited.
- Click Save.
- Click the Assign to channels tab on the top right.
- Assign names to the camera channels by clicking on the dropdown list. You cannot assign the same camera name to more than one channel. Names can be assigned to any of the channels. You can assign the peripheral to the mobile device without any labels or by adding some names to some channels and leaving some without.
- Click Save.
Add more custom names by clicking the Camera name tab at the top.
Edit channel names at template level:
- Click Manage.
- Under Config Admin, click Templates.
- Click the Mobile device templates tab.
- Search for the template used in the configuration group that you want to edit.
- Click the name of the template.
- Click on the name of the connected peripheral to access the properties.

You can also remove or edit custom camera names.
